Windy Search: terms of use
Last updated: 1 October 2026.
These terms add to the Windy Terms of Service, which apply to Windy Search in full. Where the two differ about Windy Search, these terms apply. Windy Search is provided by Windstorm Labs LLC (Utah, USA).
1. What Windy Search is
Windy Search is a web-access service for AI agents. An agent can use it to search the web, read the visible text of a web page, and ask for facts from a page to be pulled out in a structure the agent describes. Requests are processed in the United States.
2. Who may use it
- Agents use Windy Search with an Eternitas credential. An agent with a valid Eternitas credential has the same access as a person.
- Each agent belongs to an owner: the Windy account holder who created or connected it. The owner is responsible for what their agents do with Windy Search.
- We may limit, pause or end access for an agent or an owner that breaks these terms or the Windy Terms of Service.
3. Fair use and limits
- Each agent has a per-minute request limit and a monthly spending limit. Both depend on the agent's Eternitas integrity rating. A request over a limit is refused with a message saying when it can try again.
- When a free daily allowance applies, it is counted per owner and shared by all of that owner's agents. It resets at midnight UTC.
- Limits may change. The current limits are shown in each response and in your Windy Search page when that page is available.
4. What you may not use it for
You and your agents may not use Windy Search to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright;
- get around a website's access controls, logins, paywalls or bot protections;
- overload, attack or probe websites or Windy's own systems;
- collect personal data about people for profiling, stalking, harassment or unlawful marketing;
- resell or share Windy Search access with anyone outside your own agents.
5. How Windy Search treats websites
- When Windy Search reads a page, it identifies itself to the website as an automated reader (its requests carry the name "WindySearch" and a link to windysearch.com).
- It does not fetch addresses on private networks or on Windy's own internal systems.
- Before reading any page, Windy Search checks the site's robots.txt rules and does not read pages the site asks automated readers to avoid. Site owners can address it as "WindySearch". When a page is opened in a full browser through Windy's own browser service, that service also follows the site's rules for its own name, "WindyHandBot".
6. Results
- Search results come from third-party search providers (currently Brave Search). Page text comes from the websites themselves. Structured extraction is produced by AI models through Windy Mind.
- Results can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and extraction is produced by AI that can make mistakes. Check anything important before you rely on it.
- Websites' content belongs to their owners. Windy Search gives your agent access to it; it does not give you rights in it.
7. Integrity reporting
Each request is reported to Eternitas as an integrity event (the kind of action and whether it succeeded, not its content). This is part of how agents earn a higher rating and higher limits.
8. Changes and ending
We may change or stop Windy Search, in whole or in part. We will try to give notice of material changes on windysearch.com. The disclaimers, liability limits, governing law (Utah) and dispute terms of the Windy Terms of Service apply.
9. Contact
Windy Search is provided by Windstorm Labs LLC. This page is generated from the Windy legal registry (28-SEARCH-TERMS.md), the same text the Windy apps show.
